Camel Trophy FreeLander
Warn had a number of trucks on their stand including a Camel Trophy FreeLander
fitted with three of the new model Warn 6000 winches. The warn man was going on
about how they are basically off the shelf with bits of larger winches
(motor, and gear drive), so it is a pretty tough unit.
The display FreeLander had three winches fitted, one front, one rear, and one
securely stowed in side. Don't know if that was stanard fitting for the trophy
(which then raises the question If they are so tough, why bother carrying two
and a spare?
An interesting note about these winches on the FreeLander is the mounting system
the winches were fitted on removable mounting plates, which were attached
via to the Recovery Hitch pins. The winch carrier was approximately
1/4" steel, and there were two layers of it at the Recovery Hitch.
